The 2011 Success Initiative…
Was a HUGE Success!
We were very pleased with our full-house attendance last week at our 2011 Success Initiative - Part 1.
Our keynote speaker was Walt Frey, nationally-acclaimed speaker and Ninja Selling Instructor. Walt’s focus was aimed at improving one’s mindset and learning how to reprogram our business behavior. Walt’s thoughtful instruction and humor clearly engaged the audience and we were honored to present him to our local real estate community. We thank those who attended and we look forward to Part 2 later this year. Congratulations to Jacob Detweiler for winning the “Stay and Play” package through our sponsor, Whitetail Club in McCall. A big “Thank You” to JJ Astorquia from Columbia Mortgage for sponsoring the food and beverage tables. I am proud to work with a company that is willing to bring extraordinary value to our real estate colleagues, who are often considered our “competitors”. What a great tone to set for the year!

The Windermere Capital Group office is very proud to present nationally-acclaimed speaker Walt Frey in Boise, at the Grove Hotel Ballroom on January 27th, 2011. We have spent months preparing for this event and we are excited by the positive response that we have had so far, which is likely to result in a full-capacity audience. Many of the registrants are already familiar with either Walt Frey, our keynote speaker, or the Ninja Selling System, one off the most successful and reputable selling systems in the country. Windermere has created an exclusive relationship with Ninja Selling for 2011. This means that no other real estate brokerage can offer their premium education package, called an “Installation”, if there is a Windermere office in the same territory. However, agents are eligible for these classes if they are affiliated with any Windermere office. It has always been Windermere’s goal to provide exceptional education and resources to their agents, which has resulted in some of the most successful real estate offices and agents in the West. Walt Frey is one of the very few Ninja Instructors and he is also a Master Instructor of CRS(Certified Residential Specialists) who has taught tens of thousands of real estate students. Continuing the Vision
Until the early seventies, real estate was a salesperson’s business. A home was a commodity to be bought and sold, like a used ‘69 Dodge. While hard work was a mainstay, the industry lacked a sense of professionalism. Many of the agents were part-timers and dabblers, and most offices were cramped and shabby. Things needed to change.
Enter John Jacobi. When he purchased Windermere in 1972, he had a simple vision for how the real estate company should be run: Hire the best people, give them undying support, pay attention to the needs of buyers and sellers, and give back to the communities you serve. For John, it was plain old common sense. For the industry, it was a revolution.
When considering a hire, John Jacobi asked himself a question. Will our company be that much better because of this person? He knew the young company would only succeed if he brought in good, honest human beings with imagination, spirit, and integrity. This Windermere family would prove to be the company’s greatest asset.

Getting SMART in 2010
It’s the beginning of the New Year. Most people are reflecting on 2009 asking themselves what they could have done better, what they did well, what they are thankful for and checking off their 2009 resolution list. With this time of reflection also comes the time to start thinking about goals for the New Year, both personally and professionally.
At some point in our lives, most of us have learned about the SMART system of goal setting.
Specific - Specific goals have a much greater chance of being accomplished than a general goal.
Measurable - By being able to measure you goals, it is much easier to stay on track.
Attainable - When goals are important to you, it is easier to figure out ways to accomplish them.
Realistic - You must be both willing and able to work for this goal.
Timely - If you do not have a timeframe, there is no sense of urgency.
